Norman Borlaug

Norman Borlaug was a central figure in the "Green Revolution"during the 1940s through the 1960s. He worked for many years with farmers and scientist in order to improve the production of wheat. Norman genetically engineered wheat to resist many diseases, and to be able to be planted in any weather conditions. He fed everyone during a bad time of world hunger.

MONSANTO

Monsanto is an American biochemical and agriculture company and was one of the few groups to introduce genes into plants. The company introduced biotechnology into agriculture. When a new GMO is created, it has to undergoes years of testing to ensure that it brings value to farmers and is as safe to consumers. On average, it takes 13 years and costs $130 million to bring a GMO crop to market.

BAYER CROPSCIENCE

Bayer CropScience genetically modifies crops in order to make a better future for the environment. Bayer engineered traits that tolerated herbicides to crops. The company promotes the benefits of GMOs, but also maintains responsibility to try to create less effects.

The Non Gmo Project is an organization that helps consumers know what is in GMO products, build more products, and also provide non GMO choices. The project gives honest opinions if GMOs are healthy, and takes feedback into consideration to create better products.

ORGANIC CONSUMER ASSOCIATION

The OCA educates GMO consumers on the nutritional value of products, and the safety of them. They promote market campaigns, and work to upgrade crops by grass lobbying. The association crucial issues about products, safety, and the environment.
