Norman Borlaug
Norman Borlaug was a central figure in the "Green Revolution"during the 1940s through the 1960s. He worked for many years with farmers and scientist in order to improve the production of wheat. Norman genetically engineered wheat to resist many diseases, and to be able to be planted in any weather conditions. He fed everyone during a bad time of world hunger.
MONSANTO
Monsanto is an American biochemical and agriculture company and was one of the few groups to introduce genes into plants. The company introduced biotechnology into agriculture. When a new GMO is created, it has to undergoes years of testing to ensure that it brings value to farmers and is as safe to consumers. On average, it takes 13 years and costs $130 million to bring a GMO crop to market.
